Elgin Tree

Days are busy with other things than sewing, so this is just a quick post showing a wall hanging I made some time ago. It's called Elgin Tree, and I found the pattern in an Australian magazine called Patchwork and Quilting. The size is 1,80 x 0,75m.

Doll Swap

Some time ago, I signed up for a doll swap. We all used the same pattern, but from the photos I've seen so far, the dolls turned out very different. This is my doll, the first "real" doll I've ever made. She's about 30cm tall. Now she has found a new home in Pennsylvania, US. I haven't received my doll yet, but she'll come from Cyprus.

Journal 2008 - Page 3

The third page in my fabric journal turned out to be a collage; memories of a safari in South Africa.
The background fabric is handpainted, it was meant for another project, but the colour reminded me of the soil in southern Africa.....
I've played with the embrodery unit again. I still find it difficult, but this time I managed to change the colours of the original pattern.
I stamped, added both glass and wooden beads, plus some homemade fabric ones, appliqued the animals, sewed on feathers from Guinea hens and added photoprints of a break in the middle of nowhere enjoying sparkling wine....

More swaps

Once again, I've done a swap with Ebony, the very talented, 8 years old artist from Australia. The ATC is from her, and she has made it all by herself, even the felted background! Well done, Ebony!!

The Mah Jong card is from Charlie in a swap called : "I'd rather.........". No doubt, she would rather be playing. The last card is the one I'll send Charlie. And no doubt, I'd rather be on the beach instead of waiting for spring in Norway!
