Winter Bird

I found this motif on a Chistmas card, and thought it could be nice as a small wall hanging (the center panel is A4 size). I painted the background fabric with silk paint. The branches are painted Lutradur, free hand cut and machine quilted with variegated thread and some hand embroidery. The blackbird is cut from black silk and I felted some black and grey silk fibres on top. If you click on the photo, you should be able to see the details.

En imponerende flott liten quilt du har laget. Jeg har veldig sansen for bruk av litt utradisjonelle materialer. Ha ei riktig fin uke.

Fantastic Lise! I particular like the branches with berries. I also saw the fringes on the blackbird, it looks if he has real feathers! beautiful done!

I like it. It reminds me of winter in the North of France, dark, with black sky. In fact I liked it.
